Before & After School Programs

When they are not in school, they are still learning. Our Before & After School Programs provide a safe place for the to gain additional academic support, tutoring, homework assistance, test prep and social interaction development in a creative and fun environment.

SCHOOL AGERS GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT GOALS

  • Identify and manipulate sounds within words, an essential skill for successful reading and spelling.

    Use grapheme cards to build words, reinforcing their knowledge of individual graphemes.

    Practice reading words smoothly by blending sounds.

    Learn about base words and adding prefixes and suffixes.

    Analyze word structure and apply rules for word formation.

  • Measure and assess dimensions and angles to optimize when designing new models

    Learn about comparing and contrasting to make informed decisions based on data.

    Identify design flaws, make modifications, and address challenges.

  • Apply principles for functional design and stability.

    Explore material properties and suitability for a purpose.

    Observe and analyze interactions.

    Practice teamwork and effective communication.

  • Actively engage in conversations and communication

    Create and sustain appropriate relationships with peers and adults through social awareness.

    Attend and engage in activities with classmates on a regular basis.

    Actively participates appropriately and cooperatively in group situations by respecting the needs of self and others.

    Engages in healthy problem-solving behaviors.

    Shows persistence when problem solving as well as flexibility and inventiveness in thinking.

  • Develop fundamental physical fitness components, such as strength, endurance, and flexibility.

    Improve gross motor skills (e.g., running, jumping, throwing) and fine motor skills (e.g., hand-eye coordination, balance).

    Learn the principles of sportsmanship and fair play.

    Foster a growth mindset by learning the value of setting achievable goals and persisting in their efforts to reach them.
